Team One Newport has been an industry leader and provider of quality sailing specific apparel and accessories for over 40 years. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our small family-oriented company as a full-time Store Manager for our retail location on Thames Street in Newport.
Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. Candidates with sailing experience will be prioritized for their industry specific knowledge. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, maintain accountability, organize inventory, and manage staff effectively. Candidates will have the most success if they have a background in financial planning, employee recruitment, or retail management. Store manager responsibilities may include supervising assistant store managers.
Responsibilities
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
- Train, motivate, mentor and provide feedback to sales staff
- Appraise employee performance to assess training needs
- Manage daily accounting of the store's cash drawer
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Maintain restocking levels from warehouse
- Propose innovative ideas to increase market share
- Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances, etc.)
- Lead by example: Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance
- Organize occasional in-store events to foster customer relationship
- Additional store manager duties as needed
