Federal Work-Study – Academic Affairs (Computer Information Systems)

JOB SUMMARY

The Federal Work Study assists with general clerical duties for a department in a technical college.

MAJOR DUTIES

·         Prepares and maintains an inventory database for CIS classroom equipment;

·         Ensures all course software is installed and operating properly in CIS classroom before semesters begin;

·         Identifies outdated equipment and initiates surplus process;

·         Performs set-up and testing on new classroom equipment;

·         Maintains confidentiality;

·         Works a flexible schedule as needed and arrives at work on time;

·         Exhibits cooperative, supportive and professional behavior toward colleagues and the administration;

·         Acknowledges and maintains a clear distinction between professional and personal relationships with students;

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

·         The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 35 pounds

·         Ability to multitask

·         Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs

·         Organizational skills

·         Oral and written communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·         High school diploma or GED

·         Current enrollment in a SRTC credit program at the location where seeking employment

·         Eligible for participation in the Federal Work Study Program

·         Satisfactory academic progress for Federal Student Aid programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the minimum qualifications:

·         Current CIS student

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

·         Hourly

·         $13/hour 

·         Not eligible for benefits
