This job is a 19-hour, part-time, non-benefited, FLSA non-exempt position in the General Education Division/Life Sciences Department that reports to the Coordinator of Science Labs. This position is based at the Alpharetta and Lawrenceville  Campus

 

Salary: $15.60/hr

 

Schedule: 19 hours per week, schedule between Wednesday to Friday (May Vary).  

 

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code H1001)

The candidate must have successfully completed college-level Anatomy and Physiology I and II courses.

 

Preferred Qualifications 
Candidate has completed Anatomy and Physiology I and II at Gwinnett Technical College with a “B” or better. Encouraging, approachable personality with the ability to communicate with students. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

 

Demonstrated Skills:

·       Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology I and II material

·       Good teaching skills

·       Ability to supervise students

 

Job Description Summary:

Assist in supervision and tutoring of students in the Anatomy and Physiology Open Lab. Enforces lab policies while students are in Open Lab. Ability to access GTC emergency operation procedures. Assists Open Lab Coordinator in daily functions within the lab. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected. Tutors are expected to be available on only two Saturdays during the semester, the Saturday before the lab midterm and the Saturday before the lab final exam, for exam setup. During that week, they will not cover one Open Lab session. Instead, their time will be allocated to the Saturday exam setup to ensure they do not exceed their 19-hour weekly limit.

Assists students with learning.

Assists the GTC Open Lab Coordinator in lab maintenance and organization.

Assists the GTC Open Lab Coordinator and/or science faculty in the set up and break down of lab activities and assessments.

Abides by and helps ensure established safety protocols within the lab.

Communicates with GTC Open Lab Coordinator and/or science faculty to discuss student issues as necessary.

2.5%

Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of the General Education Division/Life Sciences Department and Gwinnett Technical College.
