The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to be considered for their full-time Director of Events & Internal Relations position within the Office of Communications/Public Relations. This on-site position is located at TCSG System Office, which is located in Atlanta at 1800 Century Place, Atlanta, GA 30345.
The Director of Events & Internal Relations is responsible for managing a wide array of agency functions, including event planning, procurement, and financial reconciliation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) events and meetings and supporting agency-wide operational needs.
The position is open to TCSG System Office employees only that meet the minimum qualifications below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning and Coordination
· Review and approve all hotel contracts for TCSG events and meetings.
· Plan and execute recurring peer group meetings, including:
o Presidents
o Vice Presidents of Administration (VPA)
o Communications and Marketing
o Human Resources
o Facilities
o Senior Leadership Academy (SLA)
· Plan and execute major agency events such as:
o EAGLE (Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education)
o GOAL (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership)
o Adult Education Conference
o Leadership Conference
Accounting, Facilities Support, and Financial Management
· Reconcile and process all invoices related to the meetings and events listed above.
· Pay and reconcile invoices for the Communications division.
· Charge registration fees and reconcile payments for all meetings and events.
· Manage and reconcile activity accounts
· Handle vendor setup for event and operational needs.
· Reconcile and pay hotel room charges for all TCSG events, including inter-college billing.
· Reconcile all direct-billed hotel rooms and distribute appropriate documentation to traveling team members.
· Order furniture, equipment, and other related items as needed for agency operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Event Management, Accounting, or related field preferred *and* 5 years of experience in event planning, accounting, or administrative coordination.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with financial or event management systems is a plus.
