Location: This Facilities Maintenance position is located onsite at a client location in the Lansing, MI area; daily travel during work hours required

Position Summary:

Team Facilities is seeking a self-organized Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide reliable onsite maintenance support for a client located in the Lansing, MI area. This role supports Team Facilities’ mission to remove facility issues, obstacles, and distractions for customer organizations by completing work orders, performing repairs and preventative maintenance, supporting inspections, and helping maintain a safe, functional, and comfortable workplace.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide hands-on facility maintenance services that help ensure a safe, comfortable, and professional workplace for the client.
• Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner, including repairs and preventative maintenance for long-term facility asset management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues involving general facilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and related building needs.
• Travel daily during work hours to pick up materials, visit assigned areas, respond to maintenance needs, and support client-site priorities.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite maintenance support for all assigned work order requests, including ordering, picking up, receiving, and organizing necessary materials.
• Track work order time accurately for client billing and complete work orders based on assigned priority and companywide processes.
• Conduct onsite inspections, identify facility needs, and make practical recommendations based on findings.
• Enter accurate and timely information into company systems and databases for client accounts.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and keep work areas, company vehicle, tools, and materials organized.
• Use a company vehicle responsibly and maintain a clean driving record; promptly report vehicle or safety concerns to management.
• Follow reimbursable expense processes using the company-provided expense card for approved work materials, tools, and related needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of trades or facility maintenance experience required.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and general building repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and solve problems independently while onsite.
• Basic computer skills required, including the ability to enter work order information and follow company-wide processes.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom, or similar systems preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-organized, dependable, and able to prioritize work with limited supervision.
• Clean driving record required, including no DUI.

Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trades license, certification, or formal technical training preferred.

• Quality, thoroughness, and usefulness of inspections, recommendations, and reports.
• Consistent compliance with companywide work order, documentation, vehicle, and expense processes.
• Positive feedback from supervisors, clients, team members, and vendors.

Minimum Physical Expectations:

• Physical activity that sometimes requires keyboarding, sitting, phone work and filing.
• Physical activity that sometimes requires extensive time working on a computer.
• Physical activity that occasionally requires lifting up to 50lbs.
• Physical activity that frequently requires travel by vehicle.
• Physical activity that continuously requires bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling and/or twisting.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face (in English) for long periods of time.

Minimum Environmental Expectations:

This position is based onsite at a client facility in the Lansing, MI area and requires frequent daily travel by vehicle during work hours. The typical workweek is eight-hour workdays, five days per week, Monday through Friday, with some scheduled after-hours/weekend work possible. This role may require exposure to loud noises, machinery with moving parts, weather conditions, and active facility environments. The position may involve changing priorities, client-facing communication, and occasional stressful situations.
