Position Description
At Team FR8 Management, the Broker helps ensure the success of logistics services by providing exceptional service to customers. After creating an initial client profile, a Team Fr8 Broker is expected to review the carriers that are a good match for the customer needs and solicits quotes from them. The Team Fr8 Broker then shares these carrier quotes and provides advice to help clients make an informed choice. Once the client chooses a carrier, the Team FR8 Broker books the shipment and then acts as a go-between to arrange the pickup. The Team FR8 Broker is expected to continue to track the shipment and help facilitate the drop-off at the intended destination.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Understand the clients needs, match to the carrier, and follow through on the pickup and delivery
Work closely with the accounting team when there are carrier payment or customer collection issues
Computer skills are required to operate efficiently with Revenova and TruckStop RMIS as well at DAT
Be aware when contracting a carrier that they have sufficient safety and insurance records
Work independently within a small team. You may be called on to assist or cover for another Broker while the Broker is on PTO, and the same coverage will be available for you.

Analytical skills to determine which carriers offer the right set of services for various clients
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients and carriers located in the US
Well-honed negotiating skills to get the best possible quotes for customers
Extensive knowledge of supply chain management
Familiarity with logistics software, specifically Renova and TruckStop RMIS
Strong problem solving abilities to find solutions to issues that arise before, during and after shipments
Ability to develop and manage customer relationships with which to generate referrals
People management skills (strong communication, trust and patience)
Strong customer service orientation and negotiation skills
Ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations
Ability to solve problems and think quickly under pressure
Robust verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations
Cross-functional cooperation between sales, operations, and other departments to ensure efficient and effective business flow from order to delivery and accounts receivable.
Specific Competencies
Minimum High School Degree; preferably Bachelor’s Degree or a comparable combination of education and sales experience
Certified Transportation Broker designation from Transportation Intermediaries (TIA) a plus
Five years of work experience B:B or B:C
Proven track-record of developing positive relationships with customers, carriers and fellow employees
History of consistently meeting or exceeding annual sales/business development targets
