What You'll Do as a Service Technician
- Install: Set up modern milking, feeding, and dairy barn equipment on customer farms.
- Service: Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems to keep dairy equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues and make the repairs or adjustments needed to minimize downtime.
- Support: Help farmers and sub-dealers troubleshoot equipment problems by phone and determine when an on-site service call is needed.
- Travel: Visit dairy farms to perform service calls, preventative maintenance, component replacements, and repairs.
- Communicate: Explain equipment issues and completed repairs clearly so farmers understand what was done and what follow-up may be needed.
- Document: Write clear daily job summaries covering equipment serviced, problems identified, repairs completed, parts used, and recommended follow-up work.
Our Ideal Service Technician
- Experienced: 1 years of electrical or HVAC experience and industrial maintenance experience.
- Mechanically Inclined: Enjoy hands-on troubleshooting and working with equipment; mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance skills are a plus.
- Safety Conscious: Follow written safety protocols and procedures while working on customer farms and around operating equipment.
- Tech Capable: Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning the technology and automation used in modern dairy equipment.
- Active: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods while performing service work.
- Passionate Communicator: Be enthusiastic about agriculture and the dairy industry, with strong communication skills to build positive relationships with farmers, customers, and teammates.
- Team & Service Minded: Bring a positive, can-do attitude, communicate well with farmers and teammates, and be willing to jump in when the team needs you.
