We are seeking an entry-level customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical knowledge that enables them to effectively communicate with both customers and technicians. This role is essential in ensuring customer satisfaction and facilitating the repair process, making it a pivotal position within our service department. This starts as a training position that will lead to growth in the organization. Learning the flow of work in the shop, the warranty process, booking, billing, and flagging technician time, scheduling appointments, selling repairs, and ensuring satisfaction and retention are all key skills to learn during the training period as our dealership continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assess customer needs and provide recommendations for automotive services based on their concerns.
- Prepare detailed service estimates and explain the necessary repairs or maintenance to customers.
- Coordinate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service orders, and follow-up communications.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to service or repairs.
- Stay updated on automotive technology, industry trends, and service offerings to provide informed recommendations.
- Promote additional services that may benefit the customer’s vehicle performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive service writing or as a Service Advisor is preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge in automotive systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Sales experience is a plus, as this role involves promoting services and products to customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A valid driver’s license is required; additional certifications related to automotive service are advantageous.
