What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer / Project Manager - Faade Systems position at Team Architects?
Project Engineer / Project Manager ? Faade Systems
Gridworx | Dallas, TX | On-Site | Full-Time | W-2 | $70,000 ? $80,000
You Notice Things Other People Walk Past
The stone faade on a building's exterior tells a story, panels serialized one by one, anchored to a rail system engineered down to the millimeter, fabricated from drawings that had to be exactly right before a single piece was cut.
Most people never think about any of that. You do.
Gridworx designs and delivers innovative stone cladding and faade support systems used on architecturally significant commercial projects across the country. We're a growing, specialized company, and the person who sits in this seat is the technical and organizational engine that moves a project from signed contract to fabrication-ready documentation.
If you're someone who gets satisfaction from a clean drawing set, a submittal approved on the first pass, and a client who trusts you because you always have the answer, this is your role.
What You'll Own
This is not a support role. You're the primary technical point of contact for customers from project kickoff through fabrication release. You manage the documentation, drive the coordination, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks before production begins.
Day To Day, That Looks Like
Who Thrives Here
We've thought hard about the kind of person who succeeds in this role. It's not just about credentials. It's about how you work.
What You Bring
Required
Our Dallas office is a bullpen-style workspace where the drafting team, PMs, and project engineers work side by side every day. We're a small team doing specialized work, which means your contributions are visible, your ideas get heard, and there's no layer of bureaucracy between you and the work that matters.
We're solutions-oriented and low-ego. If you see a problem, you're expected to say something and bring a proposed path forward. We don't have a culture of "that's someone else's issue." We have a culture of "let's figure it out."
A few other things worth knowing: we're dog-friendly, we're a growing company with real momentum, and we genuinely care about building a team where everyone belongs and contributes.
This Isn't the Right Fit If?
Compensation & Benefits
Apply with your resume. Once your resume has been reviewed, if we feel you have what we are looking for someone will be in contact regarding next steps.

Day To Day, That Looks Like
- Reviewing client drawings and specifications, finding scope gaps, design conflicts, and constructability risks before they become problems
- Managing RFIs and submittals with customers, architects, and GCs through every round of review
- Coordinating shop drawing development with our in-house drafting team and third-party structural engineers
- Preparing and reconciling quantity takeoffs to ensure counts match drawings and specs
- Serializing stone panels and producing quarry documentation packages, the exact cut and drill instructions for each individual panel
- Performing QC reviews on fabrication documentation before release to production
- Keeping clients informed, timelines on track, and the internal team aligned
Who Thrives Here
We've thought hard about the kind of person who succeeds in this role. It's not just about credentials. It's about how you work.
- Team player first, you make the people around you better
- Curious about how things actually work, not just how to check the box
- You don't wait to be asked. If something needs attention, you handle it
- "That's not my job" is not in your vocabulary
- You can manage five projects at once and keep every one of them organized
- You take pride in documentation quality, a clean submittal package matters to you
- You're comfortable being the person a client calls when they have a hard question
- You learn fast and go deep, you want to understand the Gridworx system, not just execute tasks within it
What You Bring
Required
- 3?7 years of experience in construction, faade systems, curtain wall, architectural metals, stone cladding, or a related building envelope field
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, and technical project documentation
- Experience preparing or reviewing quantity takeoffs
- AutoCAD proficiency, you're comfortable in construction drawing sets daily
- Bluebeam or comparable PDF markup and review tool
- Strong written and verbal communication with external clients and architects
- Organized, systematic approach to managing multiple concurrent projects
- Direct curtain wall, stone cladding, unitized or stick-built curtain wall, or faade support system experience
- Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM tools
- Design assist or pre-construction coordination background
- Stone panel serialization or quarry coordination experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Drafting, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience in a technical construction or project coordination role will be considered in lieu of a degree; we care more about what you've done than where you went to school
