Job Summary
Join our compassionate crew as a Home Care Aide, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our client who is in need of personalized care and support within their family home. (Please note, the home does have indoor/outdoor cats) This position offers the opportunity to provide essential assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. We are looking for someone who is dependable and caring and who can work Monday through Thursday 8:30am-1:30pm . If that is you message us for more details.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Support patients with mobility and transfer methods using equipment such as a gateway belt and patient transfer techniques to promote safety during movement.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and accurately documenting findings in the clients' care log book.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Provide medication administration support
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment to promote overall health and hygiene.
- Offer companionship and emotional support through engaging conversations, recreational activities, and attentive listening to foster mental well-being.
- Driving and accompanying our client at doctor appointments and outings using family vehicle
Skills
- Proven one year experience working in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior
- Knowledge of care plans, medication management, patient monitoring techniques
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as transfer belts.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction, family updates, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
