Job Overview
Join our vibrant café team as a Matcha Tea Barista. In this role, you’ll craft a variety of tea beverages, assist customers with their selections, and maintain a welcoming, efficient environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a lively café atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.
Business hours: 10:30 am to 8:00pm. We're especially looking for a person who are available to work on weekdays during school season. This is not seasonal position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of tea beverages with precision and care, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, upbeat manner to recommend products and answer questions about tea options.
- Operate POS systems for accurate cash handling, sales processing, and transaction management.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards by following proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth café operations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including serving light snacks or accompaniments in line with food safety guidelines.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for sales totals, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Experience
- Previous background in the food industry is highly preferred, especially within café environments. (Preferred not required)
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in sales processing.
- Strong customer service skills with an energetic approach to engaging guests and creating a positive atmosphere.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and sales transactions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is essential for maintaining hygiene and quality standards.
Pay: From $16.80 per hour
