We are looking for a Senior EHS Specialist. This role is responsible for site-wide Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement within an industrial production environment. This role partners closely with site leadership to support sustainable development objectives and foster a strong safety culture.
Job Duties:
- Serve as the site lead and subject matter expert for Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
- Own and manage the site EHS Management System, ensuring effective execution and continuous improvement.
- Analyze EHS risks, performance trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead and develop the site EHS team and departmental structure.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal standards.
- Maintain and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Lead and support internal and external audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
- Prepare EHS reports, maintain permits, and communicate performance to site leadership.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and audits to drive hazard identification and mitigation.
- Promote best practices and support training to strengthen site-wide EHS awareness and performance.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and project teams to integrate EHS requirements into daily activities and projects.
- Develop and manage EHS budgets, timelines, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and programs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, or related field).
- 8–10 years of EHS experience, including at least 5 years in a production or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical and/or metallurgical processes and associated risks.
- Experience with safety prevention programs and risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, ATEX).
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Power BI experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence, drive change, and gain alignment without formal authority.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams.
