Job Summary:
The Substitute Teacher carries out the instructional plans and supervises students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role ensures a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment, following school policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to facilitate student learning.
Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and classroom procedures.
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and other school spaces as needed.
Report any incidents, concerns, or unusual student behaviors to appropriate school personnel.
Follow all policies, rules, and procedures of the school district.
Complete all required documentation and submit reports as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the building principal or designated administrator.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (minimum); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid substitute teaching license or teaching certification as required by the state.
Prior teaching or childcare experience preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
