Substitute Custodian

Guthrie Center Community School District – Guthrie Center, Iowa

Guthrie Center CSD is seeking reliable Substitute Custodians to support building operations on an as-needed basis. This position helps maintain clean, safe, and welcoming school facilities for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include:

• General cleaning (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation)

• Trash removal and basic maintenance tasks

• Event and classroom setup/teardown

• Operating custodial equipment safely

• Following district safety and cleaning procedures

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

• Dependability and ability to work independently

• Prior custodial experience preferred but not required

Employment Details:

• Substitute, on-call position

• Hours vary by district needs

• Paid at district substitute custodian rate, $16/hour.
