Preschool Special Education Teacher (Inclusive Preschool)
Red Oak Community School District is seeking a highly qualified Preschool Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive early childhood team. This position serves preschool-aged students with diverse learning needs in a collaborative, play-based learning environment focused on ensuring all children have access to high-quality instruction and support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa teaching license with Birth–Grade 3 Inclusive Settings (#1001) endorsement preferred, or other appropriate early childhood/special education licensure.
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Knowledge of Iowa special education compliance requirements and experience utilizing Achieve.
- Experience collecting, documenting, and analyzing student progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD®.
- Strong understanding of child development, early learning standards, and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Experience working in an inclusive preschool setting preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff.
- Strong communication, organization, and data-based decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and supports to preschool students with disabilities within an inclusive learning environment.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services.
- Utilize assessment data and GOLD® documentation to guide instruction and monitor student growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
- Foster positive relationships with students and families while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
