JOB SUMMARY:
To support the planning, organizing and implementing of an appropriate instructional program in a preschool, elementary, or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
- Practicing Catholic preferred
- Enthusiastic supporter of Catholic faith and schools
- Self-motivated
- Well-organized with leadership abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Flexible, adaptive, and cooperative
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster the Christian uniqueness of the learning community
- Maintain required trainings as required by the State of Iowa, Archdiocese, and local site
- Support the learning center environment
- Communicate effectively with classroom teacher(s) and administration
- Help with appropriate daily activities for children
- Establish and maintain a safe and healthy nurturing environment for children
- Supervise children for safety
- Keep the learning environment clean and orderly by picking up learning materials, wiping tables and chairs, etc.
- Attend staff meetings, school programs, and in-service trainings as requested
- Maintain confidentiality with work-related matters
- Promote positive public relations through interactions with the community
- Work collaboratively with other members of the school
- Uphold, support, and promote all school policies and procedures
- Accept and provide effective supervision, assignments, change and correction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. Lifts and moves items up to 20 pounds.
