What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator position at TeachIowa?
Red Oak Jr-Sr. High School currently has two paraeducator positions available for the 26-27 school year.
A Paraeducator works alongside and under the direct supervision of licensed teachers to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to public school students. This role is vital for creating an inclusive classroom environment, reinforcing lessons, and ensuring students receive the focused attention they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce lessons planned by the teacher.
- IEP & Accommodations: Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with diverse learning needs.
- Behavior Management: Assist in modeling positive behaviors and implementing behavior plans established by the teaching team.
- Student Supervision: Monitor students safely in classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and during transitions.
- Data & Reporting: Document and report objective data on student academic progress or behaviors back to the teacher.
- Other Duties as Assigned
