What are the responsibilities and job description for the MS/HS Athletic Director position at TeachIowa?
The Griswold Community School District in Griswold, Iowa is looking for an Athletic Director to oversee our Middle and High School activities programs. In Griswold, we believe that school sports and activities are an extension of the classroom. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping our students' futures by promoting a positive, educationally based athletic experience. We are looking for a leader who focuses beyond the scoreboard and is deeply committed to supporting student development, sportsmanship, and long-term academic success. The ideal candidate will support a culture of sportsmanship, character development, and academic accountability in our athletic programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating of athletic schedules and contests, securing officials and communicating with opposing schools, supervising home athletic events, assisting with hiring and evaluating coaches, overseeing equipment and facility usage, managing the athletic program within a budget, promoting strong communication with students, parents, and coaches.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Iowa educational license with an Evaluator Endorsement (or ability to obtain).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous coaching or athletic administration experience is preferred.
- A visible passion for student-athlete success both on the field and in the classroom.
