What are the responsibilities and job description for the Half Time Activities Director position at TeachIowa?
Organizes, schedules, coordinates the overall Grade 7-12 Activities Program
Is cognizant of student participation in multiple activities and attempts to schedule activities in a way that students can participate in many of them
Works with Grade 7-12 Principal and Grade 7-12 Assistant Principal in the selection, assignment, and evaluation of activities staff members.
Arranges for the scheduling and proper set-up of activities facilities in cooperation with the activities coach/sponsor.
Arranges for the officials, police, supervisors, ticket-takers, and other workers as needed for the home activities events. Cooperates with the Grade 7-12 Principal in arranging proper supervision.
Arranges for the transportation, housing, and food for activities participants and staff as needed.
In cooperation with the activities coach/sponsor, arranges details for visiting activities group’s needs, as appropriate.
In cooperation with the activities coaches/sponsors, coordinates the adherence to all rules, regulations, and policies of the state association in all activities and the Riverside Community School District.
Recommends and approves requisitions for activities program.
Manages the activity budget and works to maintain a positive balance while maintaining the needs of the programs
In cooperation with activities coaches/sponsors, requisitions the needed activities programs supplies and equipment.
In cooperation with activities coaches/sponsors, coordinates and supervises the ticket sales and fund raising events of the activities program and assumes responsibility for proper handling of all funds.
In cooperation of Grade 7-12 administration and staff verifies each participant’s eligibility according to established physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each activity.
Weighs in on the approval of fundraisers that presented by individual teams/sponsored activities
Works closely with the Riverside Booster Club to share wants and needs for Riverside program as well as helps enforce the rotational purchase of uniforms
Serves as general manager of all activities assigned to Grade 7-12 by the activities conference and associations
In cooperation with the activities coaches/sponsors, keeps records of the results of all Grade 7-12 activities and maintains a record file of all award winners.
In cooperation with the activities coaches/sponsors, plans and coordinates the recognition programs for the activities department.
Makes recommendations to the administration and School Board concerning possible changes in policies and facilities that affect the activities program.
Makes recommendations in terms of job performance to the Grade 7-12 Principal and Superintendent for all activities coaches/sponsors.
Resolves all conflicts that may develop from time to time within the activities program.
Is the liaison between the school district and the Riverside Booster Club.
Performs such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the administration.
