West Monona is seeking a dedicated and organized Elementary School Secretary to join our team for the school year. The start date is to be determined (TBD). This vital role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our school office, serving as the first point of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the welcoming face of the building by providing exceptional customer service.
- Answer and direct phone calls; manage daily attendance and lunch counts.
- Set up and manage student medications; report dismissal changes.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned by the principal or administrative staff.
- Assist the school nurse in administering student medication.
- Maintain student records and contact information accurately and confidentially.
- Support the completion of required state reports and school documentation.
- Manage office supplies and place orders when necessary.
- Submit staff leave requests and purchase orders to administration.
- Prepare student certificates and awards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a secretary, administrative assistant, business manager, or in customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Infinite Campus.
- High school diploma or higher.
Contract & Schedule
- 10-month contract
- 180 school days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Plus 160 flexible hours to be completed between July 1 and June 30
