The School Counselor provides a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that supports the academic, career, and social-emotional growth of all students. This position requires a valid Iowa School Counselor license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners and a master’s degree in school counseling or a related field. The counselor designs and implements a data-driven program aligned with the American School Counselor Association National Model, delivering services through individual and group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and school-wide initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic planning and goal setting, supporting career exploration and postsecondary readiness, and providing crisis intervention as needed. The counselor collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, families, and support teams to develop and implement interventions, including MTSS, PBIS, and 504 plans, and connects students and families with appropriate community resources.
