Elementary Music Teacher
The Highland CSD offers a four-day school week with competitive pay. The district is currently accepting applications for a full time elementary music teacher for the school year.

PURPOSE
Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, the classroom teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide students with foundational music skills, share a love of music, and invite students to participate in making music.
- Plan and prepare a student program for parents and school community
- Be flexible and willing to help out as they work as part of a team.
- Establish good relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Structures a physical classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and maximizes student learning.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve an optimal learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Performs basic attendance, accounting, and administrative tasks as required.
- Performs supervision as needed.
- Seeks to improve competency by participating in personal and professional growth activities in conjunction with building and District goals.
- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
- Follows and abides by District policies.
