English Valleys CSD is based in North English, which is approx. 30 minutes west of the Coralville/Iowa City corridor. English Valleys CSD in an EOE.
English Valleys CSD is looking fo a behind-the-wheel driving instructor who is responsible for teaching eligible aged students how to safely operate a motor vehicle. They guide students through state-approved curriculums, provide hands-on experience in dual-control vehicles, and prepare them to pass licensing exams.
Key Responsibilities
- Practical Training: Conduct one-on-one or group driving lessons, teaching everything from basic vehicle controls to highway merging, defensive driving, and parking.
- Safety & Emergency Control: Ensure student and passenger safety by monitoring traffic conditions and using dual-control brakes when necessary to prevent accidents.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate driving skills, correct mistakes calmly, and provide constructive feedback so students can progress confidently.
- Record Keeping: Track lesson hours, attendance, and student progress.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to local and state traffic laws, as well as specific state licensing or driver education requirements.
