Position Overview:
Camanche Elementary is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Elementary School Counselor to support student needs to achieve academic success, college and career readiness and social/emotional development. The counselor will collaborate with staff, families, and the community to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term individual and small group counseling to support student needs
- Deliver classroom lessons aligned to a comprehensive school counseling program
- Assist students with social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and coping skills
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Participate in problem-solving teams (SWIT-School Wide Intervention Team)
- Respond to student crises and provide appropriate support and referrals
- Coordinate with community agencies and outside services as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with regulations
