The Aplington-Parkersburg Middle School (grades 3rd-8th) is located in Aplington, 30 minutes from the Cedar Valley. We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered LONG TERM SUBSTITUE for 7th & 8th Grade Math Teacher for the first semester of the2026-2027 school year.
The Aplington-Parkersburg Middle School serves 180 students.
The successful candidate will work in a team-based environment to support students and families in their quest to become the best version of themselves.
Position Summary:
The teacher candidate will teach 3 sections of 7th-grade math and 3 sections of 8th-grade math. The position also entails an advisory period and supervising a study hall.
Required:
- Candidates must hold a current State of Iowa Teaching License. https://boee.iowa.gov
- With this position being a long term substitute position an Iowa Teaching license is all that is required. Teacher will be responsible for preparing lessons until Winter Break.
- Retired teachers, teachers who did not find a teaching job who are confident they could teach and present 7th and 8th grade math instruction are encouraged to apply.
- Compensation will depend on teaching experience and endorsement areas.
