Position Summary
TRS’ Communications Department is seeking a seasoned communications professional to create collateral to support the Publications team. Our Publications Team is responsible for producing a range of external communications, including newsletters, financial reports, brochures, email campaigns, and other key materials designed to inform and engage our members and stakeholders.
The Communication Consultant will support TRS’ external communications initiatives, ensuring clear, engaging, and brand-aligned messaging and will collaborate with stakeholders to develop informative content that strengthens engagement and reinforces TRS’ mission. Reporting to the Manager of Publications, key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
• Create and edit content for newsletters, brochures, email campaigns, and other communications.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and alignment with TRS branding.
• Manage and proofread communication projects, ensuring quality standards, and meeting deadlines.
• Support team initiatives, participate in meetings and contribute ideas to enhance communications.
• Establish timelines and production schedules for content development and collaborate with internal design team to ensure deliverables align with TRS branding and style standards.
• Provide editorial and writing support to other teams within the Communications department.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in communications, preferably in financial services, retirement planning, or a related industry.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to explain complex financial topics clearly and accurately.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, incorporate feedback effectively, and deliver high-quality content within deadlines.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with capacity to multitask.
