AP English Tutor - High School (Livingston, NJ)
We are currently seeking a part-time High School English Tutor who specializes in AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition to assist students in the Livingston, NJ area. This role involves working one-on-one with high school students to strengthen analytical reading, rhetorical analysis, and sophisticated writing skills, in order to improve performance and prepare for exams. Knowledge and understanding of other English subjects or levels is a plus.
Qualifications
- Experience: Classroom teaching and/or tutoring experience, particularly with AP-level curriculum, with the ability to build rapport and a positive learning environment.
- Content Knowledge: A deep and nuanced mastery of AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition curriculum, including rhetorical strategies, literary analysis, and advanced essay writing. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of how to teach complex texts and writing skills effectively.
- Motivation: A genuine commitment and desire to share your knowledge and inspire students to achieve academic excellence. Energetic, Friendly, Professional yet Personal.
- Commitment: The ability to work consistently with students to reach specific academic and personal goals.
- Car: Must have reliable transportation and be willing to tutor in person in Livingston, and surrounding towns.
