Location:

Corporate Offices, Huntington Beach, California (Must be based in or close to Orange County, CA)

Teacher Created Materials values our ongoing connection to teachers, students, and classrooms. To that end, we are proud to offer a Teacher-In-Residence program that provides teachers the opportunity to share their creativity, passion, and pedagogy with our Content Development team to make outstanding products that teachers and students will love.

Previous editorial or publishing experience is not required. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to share their passion and creativity to support our vision of creating a world in which children love to learn!

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Review teacher-facing and student-facing materials in development for clarity, instructional soundness, grade-level appropriateness, and classroom usability.
• Provide written and verbal feedback on lesson flow, teacher notes, assessments, and digital components.
• Support manuscript preparation, revision cycles, and quality review as products move through development and help ensure consistency across print and digital resources.
• Collaborate with content managers, editors, designers, and digital team members to refine products during development.
• Provide classroom-based feedback on scaffolds, multilingual supports, pacing, reading levels, age-appropriateness, engagement, and assessment usability.
• Review content for standards alignment, clarity of directions, and teacher-friendliness.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree in education or related field.
• Recent PK - 8th grade classroom teaching experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite programs.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
• Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Work Conditions:

• Corporate office and home office environments with regular collaboration across locations and time zones.
