Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate early childhood education principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social interaction among children.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including circle time, play activities, snack time, and nap schedules.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and address behavioral challenges with patience and consistency.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, developmental milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or special education needs.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents or concerns related to child safety or welfare.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary lessons and participate in ongoing professional development in early intervention techniques and childhood development instruction.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is essential; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education practices such as curriculum development, classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction.
- Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
- Background in special education or early intervention programs enhances your ability to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork within an educational community.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in Montessori teaching or childhood development are advantageous.
