Position Summary:
The LibraryParaprofessional is responsible for creating a welcoming, engaging, and academically focused learning environment that supports students, staff, and school operations. The successful candidate will foster a love of reading, support student achievement, assist students with technology and coursework. This individual will work closely with students, teachers, counselors, administrators, and community members to ensure that all learners have access to the resources and support they need to be successful.
Typical Responsibilities:
Library Services
- Manage the daily operation of the school library.
- Check library materials in and out.
- Assist students in locating books, research materials, and other resources.
- Recommend books and reading materials based on student interests and reading levels.
- Maintain and organize library collections, displays, and inventory.
- Promote literacy and a culture of reading throughout the school.
- Create engaging library displays, book highlights, reading challenges, and literacy activities.
- Coordinate and manage an annual school book fair.
- Assist students and staff with research, technology, and information literacy needs.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized, and student-centered library environment.

High School Diploma (required)
Experience and Skills:
Excellent communication skills
- General office equipment
- Technical proficiency in word processing and computers
- Some knowledge of classroom management
- Some knowledge of child development
