Job Overview
This position is located within our Aerospace, Defense, and Marine business unit at our Fairview, NC location. This individual will work closely with new product introduction teams, sustaining manufacturing teams, Center of Excellence and supporting business functions in order to drive design for manufacturability, design for automation, margin improvement and other "TE Best in Class" initiatives and projects on time and on budget.
Reporting to the Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) Global Operations team, this position will have the responsibility for establishing best practices in RFO processes in TE AD&M's Operations in North Carolina. This individual will drive technologies and implementation projects to ensure the manufacturing processes are operating at "Best in Class" levels. This individual will work across functional boundaries to impact the business with peers in similar roles in other regions. It is critical the individual has the ability to lead through influence and work across organizations to deliver innovative solutions, and lead projects with broad applications. Activities also include participation on multi-function teams to make rapid improvements in identified processes, and to support TEOA (TE Operating Advantage).
Responsibilities include:
Manufacturing improvements and enhancements
Lead Site Level execution of Work Center and Process Improvement Strategies
Lead the implementation of "Ready to Deploy" Technologies in all RFO manufacturing processes.
Coordinate with Local, Regional and cross-functional resources to provide manufacturing solutions impacting Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Utilize fundamental project management skills to lead the migration of new and existing process from current manufacturing locations, to a new, green site
Train, direct and lead technical associates and peers in areas of expertise to deploy best practices on strategic projects focusing on manufacturing efficiency.
Conducts daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed.
Conduct daily audits and provide report outs to key stakeholders on migration project and green site upfit activities.
Ensures that the processes run by the manufacturing team are performing at the designed efficiencies.
Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the use of the continuous improvement tools and philosophy.
Plays a key role in the capacity planning process and leads the implementation of new capacity when needed.
Works closely with the launch organization on the seamless launch and introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
Ensure effective communication with all project stake holders to complete projects on time and on budget.
Evaluate all projects for effectiveness.
What your background should look like:
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Manufacturing with 8+ year's experience working in a manufacturing environment or engineering organization; equivalent combination of education and operational experience will also be considered.
Project leadership experience, with strong organization and project management skills
Experience moving production sites or transferring manufacturing processes to new locations or green sites is strongly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial terms and concepts. Knowledge of Operations Management and contemporary manufacturing/quality methods and systems
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is strongly desired.
Electrical engineering, or Fiber Optics experience is strongly desired.
Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills.
Must be proficient in the English language.
Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
