Job Overview
As a Controls Engineer on our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will:
- Design, develop, and support electrical control systems for both existing and new production equipment
- Lead troubleshooting efforts using structured root cause analysis methodologies
- Evaluate, diagnose, and resolve electrical and software failures on manufacturing equipment
- Partner cross-functionally to drive automation, performance improvements, and system reliability
Responsibilities
- Own plating line PLC systems including sustainment, optimization, and continuous improvement
- Develop, maintain, and update electrical schematics and documentation
- Design and implement electrical control architectures for automation equipment
- Improve plating control system design through prototyping and testing of new automation technologies (sensors, controls, and software)
- Design and deploy advanced intelligent tooling and automation solutions
- Develop digital systems that enhance data collection, visibility, and decision-making on the production floor
- Enable data visualization and analytics to support effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Lead equipment and process validation activities from planning through execution and completion
- Support integration of Industry 4.0 / IIOT technologies into manufacturing processes.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- 2–5 years of experience in controls engineering, manufacturing engineering, or automation-focused roles
- Strong hands-on experience with electrical systems, industrial controls, and automation equipment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design
- Proficiency in PLC programming (GE/Emerson and Siemens strongly preferred)
- Experience with HMI programming (Wonderware, WinCC, or similar platforms)
- Working knowledge of electrical schematics, panel design, and system integration
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIOT, and smart manufacturing technologies preferred
- Proficient in PC applications including Word, MS Project, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with structured troubleshooting approaches
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electromechanical systems and machine controls
- Background in process validation, equipment qualification, or system commissioning
- Exposure to data acquisition systems, sensors, and industrial networking
Salary : $90,000 - $128,000
