Essential Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components within facilities (lighting, power distribution, control panels, HVAC controls, motors, etc.).
- Inspect electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures for compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate causes of breakdowns and correct problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Collaborate with HVAC, plumbing, and other maintenance personnel to support overall facility operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and inspection results.
- Ensure safe work practices and adherence to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with planning and coordinating electrical upgrades and projects.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- 3 years of electrical experience in a commercial, institutional, or industrial facility environment.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, building codes, and electrical safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficient with electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
