Company Overview:
Transmission Developers (or “TDI”) develops unique clean energy transmission projects in an environmentally responsible manner. Our projects link renewable generation resources with markets that are seeking new sources of power.
TDI is a portfolio platform backed by investment funds affiliated with Blackstone Inc., a global leader in alternative asset management.
Existing Projects:
TDI’s public projects include CHPE and NECPL, but TDI has a pipeline of additional development projects. Candidates are encouraged to review these projects to understand the scale and complexity of TDI’s development activities.
Position Summary:
TDI is seeking a finance professional to play a central role in the development of large-scale transmission infrastructure. This individual will lead financial analysis across multiple projects, support key investment decisions, and work directly with senior leadership, investors, and development teams to advance complex energy infrastructure opportunities. The role includes managing and developing financial models for all development projects, such as:
• Merchant transmission models that calculate returns at various project costs and marginal energy revenue levels
• Revenue requirement models relevant for FERC and Canadian jurisdictions
• Cost estimate models (incorporating input from the development team)
• Additional financial and economic models used to evaluate development opportunities for investors, regulators, and partners
TDI is seeking an individual with strong financial acumen, advanced Excel modeling capabilities, experience with energy development, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial development environment.
This role provides direct exposure to the development and financing of multi-billion-dollar transmission projects, including interactions with regulators, investors, and strategic partners. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how new transmission infrastructure is developed and financed in North America.
The role is well-suited for candidates seeking to transition from investment banking, infrastructure, or energy finance into a development-focused environment with significant responsibility and visibility.
Required and Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, project finance, private equity, energy infrastructure, development finance, or related fields
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
Preferred:
• Experience in energy, infrastructure, or project finance
• Exposure to regulated environments (FERC, utilities, etc.)
• Experience with partnerships / public-private structures
Essential Duties and Tasks:
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across TDI Development
• Build and maintain complex Excel-based financial models for new HVDC, transmission, and infrastructure development opportunities
• Track development spend, expenses, and cash flow across multiple projects and entities
• Support evaluation of new opportunities through scenario modeling, returns analysis, sensitivities, and strategic recommendations
• Prepare presentations, investment memoranda, and reporting packages for TDI leadership
• Partner with the development team to understand project timelines, milestones, and funding needs
• Assist with financing processes, diligence requests, and external lender/investor materials as needed
• Drive process improvements and create scalable financial reporting tools and dashboards
Work Location:
Flexible, with preference for Northeast / New York. Regular in-person presence in NYC is expected.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary Range: $120,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with experience), plus bonus incentives based on project performances.
