Position Summary:
The Apparel Production Assistant will play a key role in supporting the production team with the daily coordination and communication necessary to keep apparel production running smoothly. This role involves tracking production orders, maintaining clear communication with customers and factories, reviewing, and preparing production samples and packages, and compiling technical information from tech packs. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to learn the ins and outs of apparel manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Order Tracking: Maintain and update production tracking sheets. Monitor timelines and ensure key deadlines are met across all stages of production. Communication: Draft and manage professional email correspondence with customers and overseas factories. Coordinate sample approvals and follow-ups with vendors and clients. Sample Management: Check and prepare samples, lab dips, strike-offs, and submits for review. Organize sample packages for shipment and ensure proper labeling and documentation. Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and input technical information from tech packs into production tracking systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production status, sample approvals, and deliveries.
- Cross-functional Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the production lifecycle.
- Assist in preparing production-related reports and updates for internal use.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1 year of experience in a similar role within the fashion or apparel industry preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace; familiarity with PLM systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
