What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal General Foreman position at TCS Mechanical?
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal General Foreman to lead and oversee sheet metal installation projects within the construction industry. This role is vital in ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong management capabilities, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of sheet metal work, including blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating. Your leadership will drive project success from start to finish, coordinating teams, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
- Lead and supervise sheet metal fabrication and installation teams on construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project requirements accurately.
- Follow all SOPs and Specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align project schedules and deliverables. Build two week look aheads and review with all your foreman. Review with Superintendent and Project management weekly.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and client expectations.
- Make sure all foremen are filling out daily plans, reading, and reviewing with there crews every morning
- Fill out and turn in daily reports.
- Make sure all material, drawings, hardware is on site in sequence with your two week look aheads.
- Attend contractor meetings.
- Lead coordinating of all deliveries.
- Lead request and manage tools and equipment needed for job site.
- Communicate with Superintendent daily all questions or concerns.
- Coordinate with all other trades and the General Contractor to execute work.
- Meet with Project Managers on Change Orders, RFIs, Drawings and BIM Coordination
- Make sure all changes are communicated with Foreman and crews.
- Turn in time weekly
- Conduct site inspections to ensure safety protocols are followed in accordance with OSHA, Project, and Company standards. Make sure all crews are working in a safe manner.
- Communicate with Safety and Superintendets with any concerns with job site safety, PPE or incidents.
- Coordinate with shop based off two week look aheads for what duct is needed at work site.
- Set up inspections
- Make sure crews maintiain a clean work site that is picked up at the end of the day.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent MS Office skills and ability/drive to learn new software systems
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Ability to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, twist, bend, and lift 40 pounds
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Ability to smock up and work in a clean room environment (if applicable)
General understanding of mechanical codes.
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test
