TCP Analytical, an integrated manufacturer and distributor serving the life science research and chemical markets, is seeking a Payroll & Human Resources Administrator.
About the Role
The Payroll & HR Administrator is responsible for preparing and processing the weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for all personnel across the US and Canada. Duties will include payroll processing, benefits, and retirement administration. This position functions within the HR department and participates in HR related projects and administration.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, processes, and validates weekly and bi-weekly US & Canadian payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee remuneration.
- Compiles and prepares payroll data such as garnishments, time off, commission and bonus payments, insurance, and other deductions.
- Ensures collection of accurate and complete time information. Reminds employees and managers as needed.
- Updates and maintains all employee information in the payroll system.
- Processes all approved changes to employee records and payments, including new hires and terminations.
- Participates in decisions regarding Payroll system related processes.
- Administers all benefits and retirement programs in the US and Canada, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) plan and RSP plan.
- Interfaces with benefit advisors as needed. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Administers COBRA.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, distributions, and contribution amounts. Performs plan audits as needed.
- Assisting with HR Onboarding activities including background checks, offer letters and tracking compliance training.
- Other HR Administrative assistance as required.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) an asset.
- 5 years related experience in payroll/benefits/human resources.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
- Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment.
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to complete full cycle payroll.
