What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Engineer position at TCOM, LP?
Responsible for securely designing, configuring, installing, and supporting hardware, software, and related applications that enable the organization and its operations.
Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating resources and ensuring IT project objectives are accomplished.
Develop and implement project plans, manage risks, and communicate with stakeholders in support of IT projects.
Act as primary liaison with 3rd party providers for product improvements, issues, and tier 2 technical support.
Securely configure, manage, and integrate servers, network infrastructure, and applications while ensuring expected system performance and resilience.
Manage the lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets.
Implement and manage identity and access management systems.
Ensure secure authentication practices through configuration of roles and permissions.
Assess various options and their potential impacts to make decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term needs.
Clearly communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Develop and maintain documentation for system procedures and best practices, which can be used by team members.
Lead IT projects and initiatives.
Mentor junior staff and participate in cross-functional teams to improve system performance and support.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in related field; or
Equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.

Skills needed:
- Linux - Strong experience maintaining and developing a managed linux server and workstation environment where compliance and consistency are priorities.
- Good networking foundations (switching/routing). Experience with OpenVPN management, site-site VPNs and configuration most desirable. Experience supporting mobile terminals and edge devices a plus. FortiGate, Meraki, Netgate, and similar experience is great.
- Windows - General administration skills in a Hybrid environment. AD/Entra/Sharepoint/M365/etc..
- Handling escalated support issues or otherwise pitch in with special projects.

- Self-starter, able to complete projects independently while collaborating with the larger team.
- Good team player is essential. In addition to supporting corporate systems and infrastructure, several operational teams will rely on this position for critical networking support.
