We are a growing company looking to add to our Quality team. Ideally we would like a business focused individual for this role. Our quality team is not just manufacturing based, it operates throughout our business system and works closely with all areas of the business to help ensure continuous improvement, solid business decisions. ISO Quality Management systems, and important relationships with our customers. We have a history to growing and developing our interns to hopefully join the team on a full time basis after graduation. This intern position starts with understanding the manufacturing side of the business in more detail while also working with the business processes through audits.
This internship is a year round opportunity; not just a summer internship. We are looking for people ideally in their Senior year of their Bachelor's degree. Operations and Systems Management type majors are ideal. Interns are eligible for our 401k plan with immediate vesting and our Partner's Incentive Bonus program! Our bonus program is configured to have ALL team members (including interns) share in the success of the company.
The Quality Specialist Intern position will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments related to TCI’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The person selected for this position will work on a range of hands-on assignments mainly focused on quality and improvement including reviewing nonconforming materials, customer returns and analysis, measuring and test equipment calibration, internal auditing of manufacturing and business processes and products, and manufacturing process quality control and improvement. This opportunity will allow the person selected to gain valuable professional experience within an industry leading company, and contribute to TCI’s business success.

Highlight of Typical Job Responsibilities
- Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) internal audits of manufacturing and business processes and products.
- Perform and document incoming inspection audits.
- Perform and document manufacturing in-process audits.
- Perform and document finished product audits.
- Perform studies of manufacturing processes for process quality control and improvement.
- Evaluate and disposition nonconforming product ensuring the required documentation accurately reflects what occurred.
- Working with the appropriate manufacturing supervisor, analyze TCI caused customer returned product to understand why it was returned, determine and document the root cause, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform measuring equipment calibration and coordinate test equipment calibration and all documentation.
- Working in a manufacturing facility around winding equipment, assembly, welding, varnish dipping and baking, and electrical testing operations.
- Must be able to read and interpret standard engineering drawings and specifications
- Must be able to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometer

- Basic knowledge of QRM or lean
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university engineering or related program (MSOE, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Madison or equivalent).
- Prefer a Senior pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations and Systems Management.
