Duties
- Assist experienced electricians in installing wiring, conduits, outlets, switches, and lighting fixtures according to blueprints and schematics
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform electrical tasks on construction sites or commercial facilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to support installation and troubleshooting processes
- Conduct basic inspections of electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters to measure resistance and continuity
- Support the setup of low voltage systems including data cabling, security systems, and communication lines
- Follow safety protocols in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and company policies during all work activities
- Assist with framing carpentry tasks related to electrical installations when necessary to ensure proper fixture placement and support
Experience
- Prior experience working with industrial or commercial electrical systems is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters is preferred
- Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work safely in active environments is highly valued
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams is advantageous for supporting installation tasks
- Basic understanding of low voltage systems (e.g., data wiring, alarm systems) is desirable
- Some experience with high voltage systems or framing carpentry related to electrical work will be considered an asset
