Position Summary: The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced clinical care to patients with allergic
and immunologic conditions. The Allergy/Immunology Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, treats and manages acute
and chronic allergy and immune-related disorders in collaboration with physicians.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Position:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as
Asthma
Food allergies
Eczema/atopic dermatitis
Immune deficiencies
- Order, perform and interpret diagnostic testing, including allergy skin testing.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies according to state regulations and practice agreements.
- Administer and monitor allergy immunotherapy injections.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medication use and emergency response plans.
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic health records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
- Master's Degree in accredited NP program
- Active New York State NP license.
EXPERIENCE (YearsCertifications):
- 1-2 years of relevant experience or willingness to training directly in allergy/immunology preferred
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of allergy and immunology disorders and treatments
- Ability to perform and interpret allergy testing
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Experience with biologic therapies and immunotherapy protocols
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast past clinical setting
- Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards.
Salary : $95,000 - $125,000
