Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our growing team. This position requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform everything from routine maintenance to major mechanical repairs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify safety issues and mechanical deficiencies, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, alignments, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid replacements on standard passenger cars.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently.
- Change automotive tires safely and accurately, including balancing and mounting as needed.
- Repair or replace mechanical systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and auto body components.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for reporting and quality assurance purposes.
- Provide excellent communication skills by explaining repair needs clearly and offering professional advice on vehicle care and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Certified Safety Inspector certification or equivalent credentials demonstrating expertise in vehicle safety standards - if you need certification, we will cover the cost of taking the class to get certified.
- Knowledge of standard passenger car operation, automotive parts, accessories, and auto body repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, auto estimating software, and diagnostic equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, electrical systems, auto restoration projects, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform automotive tire changes efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to service writer and clients if needed.
