Duties
- Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle payments accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor .
- Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are displayed attractively and replenished as needed.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist customers with pricing inquiries and promotions.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases while maintaining a positive shopping atmosphere.
- Exhibit phone etiquette when answering customer calls or directing inquiries appropriately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the store.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or grocery store settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Basic knowledge of retail math to assist in transactions and pricing inquiries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- A proactive attitude towards learning about products and sales techniques is highly valued.
- Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. consistently and repeatedly.
- Full time employees must be able to work mornings, evenings and weekends.
