Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and resourceful Sales Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are equally comfortable handling merchandise in the stockroom and providing exceptional service on the sales floor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Stockroom Operations:
- Locate and select items from shelves, racks, or boxes using ladders as needed
- Ensure accurate item selection and quantity for each order
- Handle merchandise with care to prevent damage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom and storage areas
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols
- Communicate inventory discrepancies or shortages to supervisors promptly
- Execute efficient shipment processing, replenishment, and markdown optimization in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Sales Floor & Customer Service:
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service to every customer
- Assist multiple customers by answering questions, locating products, and processing transactions efficiently
- Maintain a sense of urgency and professionalism in a high-volume, fast-moving retail environment
- Restock merchandise and ensure the sales floor remains clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Stay current on product knowledge, trends, and promotions to better assist customers
- Suggest key looks and promote products based on customer preferences and style
- Perform register sales transactions quickly and accurately, following cash control procedures
- Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with company policy
- Ensure return merchandise is restocked or appropriately labeled for damage or defect
- Uphold brand standards across sales floor, fitting rooms, cash wrap, and stockroom
- Fold merchandise and restock to maintain a clean, organized floor
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with accessing fitting rooms in a professional and welcoming manner
- Monitor fitting room activity to ensure customer safety, prevent merchandise loss, and maintain company policies
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and brand presentation standards within fitting room areas at all times
- Manage the flow of garments in and out of fitting rooms, including counting items before and after use
- Ensure all tried-on merchandise is folded and returned to the appropriate place or sorted properly for restocking
- Provide style suggestions and product recommendations while customers are trying on items, enhancing the overall shopping experience
- Handle customer questions, requests, or concerns efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Share knowledge and support peers with tasks and customer interactions
- Maintain consistent communication with store leadership
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Previous sales experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable using point-of-sale (POS) systems and handheld inventory tools
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights
- Ability to bend and stoop to work in low lying areas
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
