Commercial HVAC Helper
Location: Farmingdale, NY (Projects Throughout Long Island & the Five Boroughs)
Pay: Up to $30.00/hour

A well-established commercial HVAC contractor based in Farmingdale, NY is seeking a motivated HVAC Service Technician Helper to join its growing service team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the commercial HVAC industry while working alongside experienced technicians on a wide variety of commercial systems.
Projects are located throughout Long Island and New York City's five boroughs, providing exposure to office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, retail centers, industrial properties, and other commercial environments.
Position Overview
The HVAC Service Technician Helper will assist experienced Service Technicians with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking to advance into a Commercial HVAC Service Technician position.
Responsibilities
- Assist Service Technicians with diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment.
- Help perform preventative maintenance on:
- Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Split systems
- Package units
- Air handlers
- Heat pumps
- Boilers
- Ventilation systems
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Assist with replacing motors, belts, filters, coils, compressors, contactors, and other HVAC components.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Accurately document work performed and communicate with supervisors.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Learn commercial HVAC troubleshooting techniques from experienced technicians.
- Travel daily to customer locations throughout Long Island and New York City.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of HVAC experience preferred (commercial or residential).
- Trade school education or HVAC certification is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical rooms.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Basic electrical troubleshooting
