About the Role
A rapidly growing professional services organization is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead revenue recognition and revenue operations in a high-growth, multi-entity environment. This role will own revenue accounting policies, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and oversee scalable revenue processes within NetSuite.
The Director of Revenue Accounting will partner closely with FP&A, Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate contract review, billing alignment, and automation of revenue processes. This role is ideal for a strategic accounting leader who enjoys building scalable systems while maintaining strong technical accounting compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain revenue recognition policies and ASC 606 compliance
- Lead the monthly revenue close, including deferred revenue and related reconciliations
- Analyze and improve Work in Progress (WIP) processes to ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Drive automation and improvements in revenue recognition and reporting
- Serve as the primary revenue accounting contact for external auditors
- Optimize and enhance revenue processes within NetSuite
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to improve deal structure and billing accuracy
- Lead, mentor, and develop the revenue accounting team
- Build scalable revenue processes to support continued organizational growth
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Deep expertise in revenue accounting and ASC 606
- NetSuite ERP experience (required)
- Experience working in multi-entity, high-growth environments
- Prior audit experience and team leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Sage Intacct experience
- Professional services or complex contract revenue experience
- Experience with SOX compliance and M&A activities
Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
