Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare dump bodies, truck equipment, and components for painting through sanding, grinding, masking, cleaning, and surface treatment.
- Apply primers, sealers, and finish coats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Mix hardeners and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure proper paint thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
- Inspect surfaces before and after painting to identify defects and perform necessary touch-ups.
- Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and related tools in safe working conditions.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of painting equipment.
- Follow production schedules and meet established productivity goals.
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and paint requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory of paints, solvents, and consumable supplies.
- Observe all OSHA, environmental, and company safety regulations regarding hazardous materials and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of dump bodies and components as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Ability to learn our painting process.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial, automotive, truck body, or heavy equipment painting.
- Knowledge of spray-painting techniques, paint mixing, and coating applications.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and paint equipment safely.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and production documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with polyurethane and industrial coating systems.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Knowledge of paint thickness measurement tools and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to wear respirators, protective clothing, gloves, and other required PPE.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas safely.
- Indoor manufacturing and paint booth environment.
- Exposure to paints, solvents, and industrial chemicals.
- Frequent use of respiratory protection and personal protective equipment.
