We’re looking for a dependable, safety-minded Equipment Operator / Engineering Technician to join our growing field operations team. This position supports a variety of geotechnical and foundation testing projects across the southeastern United States. Work includes operating specialized field equipment, assisting with setup, maintenance, and demobilization, and helping ensure high-quality project execution under diverse site conditions.

About The Role
We’re looking for a dependable, safety-minded Equipment Operator / Engineering Technician to join our growing field operations team. This position supports a variety of geotechnical and foundation testing projects across the southeastern United States. Work includes operating specialized field equipment, assisting with setup, maintenance, and demobilization, and helping ensure high-quality project execution under diverse site conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain construction and testing equipment (e.g., bull dozers, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and support vehicles).
- Assist field crews with equipment setup, test execution, and site restoration.
- Perform routine mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Support engineering and technical staff in conducting various field tests.
- Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and complete required field documentation.
- Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast (lodging and per diem provided).
- Some projects operate on a 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.
- Projects typically range from 2 weeks to 2 months in duration.
- Extensive travel with overnight stays is required.
- Experience operating heavy equipment in construction, geotechnical, or utility work.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather, and operate safely on active construction sites.
