The Pain & Spine Specialist Provider is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal, spinal, neuropathic, and pain-related conditions. The provider will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care utilizing conservative, interventional, and multidisciplinary treatment approaches to improve function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.

The provider collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapy services, imaging departments, and clinical staff to provide comprehensive spine and pain management services.

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Radiculopathy / sciatica
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Facet arthropathy
  • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
  • Neuropathic pain syndromes
  • Joint and musculoskeletal pain disorders
  • Post-surgical pain conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing conservative and interventional pain management strategies.
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including imaging, laboratory findings, EMG/NCS reports, and clinical findings.
  • Epidural steroid injections
  • Facet injections
  • Medial branch blocks
  • Radiofrequency ablations (RFA)
  • Joint injections
  • Trigger point injections
  • SI joint injections
  • Kyphoplasty/vertebral augmentation (if applicable)
  • Spinal cord stimulator trials/management (if applicable)
  • Prescribe medications appropriately following state, federal, and DEA regulations.
  • Monitor controlled substance therapy utilizing PDMP/CSMD review, urine drug screening, medication agreements, and risk assessment tools when applicable.
  • Coordinate patient care with referring providers, surgeons, primary care providers, physical therapy, behavioral health, and ancillary specialists.
  • Complete documentation, charting, coding, and note completion within required organizational timeframes.
  • Maintain compliance with payer requirements, quality metrics, HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, and clinic policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, provider meetings, and continuing education activities.
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedural expectations, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
