Duties
- Provide daily cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment for animals
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills during feeding, cleaning, and medical procedures
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep pets comfortable and looking their best
- Support veterinary staff with animal restraint during appointments and surgical procedures, administering medications, and monitoring health conditions
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician is highly desirable
- Experience as a veterinary assistant demonstrates strong animal handling skills
- Knowledge of kennel management is beneficial
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and cleaning protocols ensures safety for both animals and staff
